Call for Papers | Issue 7(2025): Restorative Justice, Nonviolence and Education
This call for papers invites contributions on the intersections of anarchism, nonviolence, and resilience as conceptual and practical responses to violence and coercion. Both anarchism and pacifism can be read as via negativa traditions that refuse domination and violent means, while experimenting with voluntary cooperation, mutual aid, and civil resistance. Historical resources—from Philo of Alexandria’s Essenes to Kropotkin’s associative visions—illustrate long-standing attempts to construct peaceful communities, even as theorists such as William James and Clausewitz highlight the enduring dilemmas of war, discipline, and the “fog of violence.”
We seek papers that critically examine how nonviolence and anarchism may offer not merely utopian ideals but practical frameworks for justice, solidarity, and social transformation. Potential areas include: the relationship between resilience and nonviolent education; the role of communication and empathy in conflict resolution; critiques of militarism and transactional conceptions of politics; and the possibilities of associative civil society beyond the state.
By drawing together philosophical, historical, and contemporary perspectives, Issue No. 7(2025) aims to explore how traditions of nonviolence and anarchism might inform constructive alternatives to violence in theory and practice.
Keywords: anarchism; nonviolence; resilience; pacifism; justice; solidarity, restorative justice, education
We invite you to contribute by 15 Oct., production of the Issue starts 1st December 2025.
